    HOW IT WORKS

    Why is this an essential for your postpartum couchie?

    After childbirth, the vaginal area can be sore, swollen, and uncomfortable due to stretching and potential tearing. Cooling down the vagina provides pain relief by reducing swelling, numbing nerves, and soothing irritation. Cold temperatures help constrict blood vessels, reducing inflammation and promoting healing. Using the Cool Couchie Pad designed for postpartum care is effective in providing cooling relief to the perineal or vaginal area.

    How does it really work?

    The Cool Couchie Pad has a very effective cooling functionality which gives you more comfort. This cooling functionality is achieved with a mix of water and calcium ammonium nitrate pearls inside the pad. When this pad is folded in half, the pearls breaks and therefore releases the cooling functionality. Isn't that cool? No need for those DIY padsicles of Pinterest!

    What is the recommended use?

    We recommend that you pack two Cool Couchie Pads in your hospital bag for those early hours after delivery. Please make sure that when you pack these pads, you are not allowing much pressure on them, i.e., do not put heavy items on top of the pads.

    After you have delivered your beautiful baby, please take a shower and let a partner help you in activating the cooling mechanism as described below.

    How to use the product:
    1- While the pad is still in sleeve, distribute the pearls inside across the length of the pad. During shipping, the pearls inside might be concentrated at the top or bottom of the pad, leaving it to look thicker on that side. By distributing it across the length, it will become easier to fold the pad.
    2- While the pad is still in sleeve, fold it in half (top to bottom) until you hear a popping sound. You can press at the point where you have folded the pad to make the insides pop easier.
    3- While the pad is still in sleeve, shake slightly to commence cooling
    4- Tear sleeve open and remove the pad. Peel off paper adhesive and place into underwear

    What are the care and safety guidelines?

    External use only. Keep out of reach of children
    Keep away from heat or open flames.
    Store in a cool dry place away from heat or freezing.
    If pack is leaking, discard immediately
    Harmful if swallowed. If accidentally swallowed, drink several glasses of water and contact your local poison control center immediately.
    Do not puncture, strike, or step on pad. If content becomes exposed to skin or eyes, flush with water immediately and call physician.
    Do not refrigerate or freeze to reuse

    What is the expected delivery date?

    Our packages are shipped by PostNL and often take 1-2 business days to arrive within NL. Shipping to other EU countries is expected to take 2-3 business days. Orders placed on business days before 11.00h are shipped the same day!

The pain felt by the women during the recovery and the daily activities decreased. Postpartum perineal pain adversely affected daily activities such as lying down, sitting, and walking; infant care, breastfeeding, and urination; and comfort levels of the postpartum women.
